The Road to Software Engineering

Software development in the industry world, with its dynamic and changing business and more complex requirements, is a challenging discipline. To survive in the software-intensive world, we must be software competent. Most industrial software nowadays is developed by teams. Thus, to be an effective engineer, we need to be able to work on a team. Teamwork, however, is more than just getting along. Teams must plan their projects, track their progress, and coordinate their work. That is why we need TSP (Team Software Process). By adopting the TSP, our organization will: Master disciplined engineering methods; Establish effective team management; Provide enlightened exclusive leadership. Traditional TSP is done by manual paper work which is burdensome and uncontrollable. Implementing a management system to support software development is the key ingredient to making the process controllable and producing high quality software applications. In this paper, we explore the design and implementation of a simple file management system.
